I have been lurking around watching these threads about Avalon and personal egos in the manner that someone watches a train wreck. I find that it confirms what I always knew: Open Source is not the panacea everyone hypes it to be. This does not mean I am against it, but I think the behavior I have witnessed highlights one of the risks of open source development and there are certainly other risks, also.
