Hello,

I am just beginning to work with Avalon and Merlin.

Lately I am running into the Question how I correctly intodruce the usage of
an JAR-File in my Project, which was not made for the use with Avalon in the
first place . For Example I want to use HTML.Templates class in my Servlets.

In an first approach I simply created the directory 'template' and 'jars'
under my .magic/main and defined it as an ressource in my index.xml. When i
can append it to the dependencies of my project and i am finished. Now I am
able to use the functionality provides with this JAR in my Servlets.

Maybe there already exists an better way to do this and I missed it.

If not when there maybe given some thought of introducing this to Magic.
I have already mentioned this to Niclas and he extended the thought that it
should also be possible to include other types of containers, such as WAR,
EAR.

One possible solution maybe that there will be defined a directory in the
project, there all such resources goes. They will be specified in the
index.xml so that magic can find them an intodruce them correctly in the
local repository.

He also brought up another concern, that one wanted to specify common Jars,
that can't be located on a public Repository such as ibiblio.org due to
licensing.

Any hints, comments or suggestions ?

Greetings,

Tobias Wolf
