Patrick Linehan commented on AVRO-596:
--------------------------------------
> AVRO-544 addresses this, no?
Yes, it appears so. I've updated the patch to implement AVRO-544's new
"Server" interface, and I believe I have the semantics correct. Lazy
initialization will have to come later, but at least for now "start" and "join"
have meaningful behavior.
Thanks!
> NettyServer under-initialized in constructor.

> As described on the dev mailing list
> (http://mail-archives.apache.org/mod_mbox/avro-dev/201007.mbox/browser), the
> NettyServer constructor fires off a thread to perform initialization, leaving
> the server in an unusable state for an indeterminate amount of time.
> Suggested fix is to perform all initialization eagerly in the ctor.
