@Scott: I don't think that security manager related issues are difficult to
solve. Just as you say, we can always revert back to reflection-based approach
if we cannot obtain an instance of Unsafe.
Therefore, I'd say we only need to implement a reflection-based FieldAccess and
use it in every situation where Unsafe class is not available or its instances
cannot be created.
