By other implementations I mean C, C++, Python, Perl, C#, Ruby, & PHP.
Existing versions of these should be able to read a data file that contains
circular references written by Java.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but it looks like once the reference ID is read
the rest of the schema is skipped. If that's correct, then, in order for an
existing implementation to be able to read such data it must declare a union of
the id type and the record type, to accurately describe what's written.
