Could someone pls review AVRO-1528 patch (Avro-C)?

Hi,

could someone please have a look at my proposed fix for AVRO-1528? I have
attached it to the issue. It's a very trivial fix to a trivial problem, I
have tested it (built it, run the regression tests and tested the fix
specifically).
