I wrote a test that writes 10 million specific objects to an ObjectOutputStream
(in memory to avoid file IO overhead). With the static writer member it is just
over 10% faster, so we should leave it as an optimization.
Code is at https://github.com/tomwhite/avro-1502-perf-test. Here's the test I
did:
