Overall this looks good.
I wonder what the migration from Joda to the Java 8 Date and Time API will look
like. A Specific compiler option perhaps? It would be good to have an answer to
this before this gets released.
I think the Joda dependency should be {{provided}} so that we don't affect
downstream project classpaths.
