Fixing this requires the JSON_DECODE_ANY flag which unfortunately is not
available in the bundled jansson (v2.1), so it'll require an upgrade to a later
jansson (latest stable is 2.7).
The proper fix might be to depend on an external jansson instead of bundling it.
