Thanks for the background. I knew I was missing something when it didn't look
like renames were implemented.
I've added a [test case that fails on
master|https://github.com/apache/avro/pull/106/commits/5807fbfb403806fb6481611a9c7214b16ab7840b].
It renames a field and adds the old name as an alias in the new schema. Is
this supported?
