This sounds like a reasonable use case. Until and unless such a feature is
added to Avro you can work around its absence by implementing your own, custom,
schema normalization function in your application code.
But perhaps you are not alone in desiring such a feature, and it might be
useful to add this to a future version of Avro. Please consider submitting a
patch that adds this feature to Avro.
