CODEC_PKG is defined in CMakeLists.txt as

Which leaves the final `avro-c.pc` with `Requires: @ZLIB_PKG@` and so on; this
then causes every use of `pkg-config --exists avro-c` to fail, since it can
never resolve the required dependencies.
