I confirm I can reproduce this issue with fields containing more than 256 bytes 
of data. Typically, long blobs of text.

They will be serialized as expected (opening the Avro file in an Avro File 
Viewer works as expected), however, this exception is thrown when reading the 
same file with the C# client
