We used to publish SNAPSHOT artifacts to the repository at
[https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/snapshots/org/apache/avro/]
Currently these artifacts are very much out of date:

This might have been a buildbot job – we recently asked INFRA not to bother
migrating the old job that validates Java6 INFRA-22215. Coincidentally, this
was August 19th 2021 (same date one year later).
We should publish SNAPSHOT artifacts periodically. It's really quite useful to
validate Avro as well as recent fixes.
