D/L'd .tar.gz and ASC key

verified signing of tar file (I don't have any trust with that key yet,
we'll have to set that up)

untarred
built artifacts
ran all tests
ran mvn site:site for the site build (this worked, though the maven
dependency reports took a very long time; a recurrent problem with other
projects)
