To Colm's question. We observed this issue as well and had discussions in a separate thread <https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BEAM-5793>, with Scott and Micah.
This issue was only reproduced on certain Linux environment. MacOS does not have this error. We also specifically ran the test on Jenkins, but could not reproduce it either.
