Thanks for the suggestion Luke. Unfortunately, this didn't resolve the issue. Maybe I will need to wait for 2.4.3. :/. Or I will have to remove spotless locally.
Maybe I should chime in on that thread as well and let them know its occurring for me on 2.4.2 When I used 2.4.2 it had the same issue (seemed to warn that it also wanted to use 2.3).
