Hi Beam Devs, I'm excited to announce that I've been accepted to Google Summer of Code 2025 with Beam! I'll be working on the Beam ML Vector DB/Feature Store Integrations project under Danny McCormick's mentorship.
Having made a few contributions to Beam previously (see my PRs: https://github.com/apache/beam/pulls?q=+is%3Apr+author%3Amohamedawnallah), I'm looking forward to working on this end-to-end project and moving Beam forward in the ML space. By the end of GSoC, I plan to deliver at least one solid integration in each of these categories: 1. Vector Database: Milvus 2. Feature Store: Tecton 3. Embedding Generator: OpenAI If bandwidth allows, I'll focus on additional ML integrations aligned with Beam's roadmap and priorities. Looking forward to a great GSoC period contributing to Beam!
