Joey has been contributing to Beam since 2023 and has been steadily improving the Python SDK ever since, with contributions ranging from type hinting improvements to deep side input optimizations to tricky coder fixes. Beyond code, Joey has consistently pushed Beam forward with his contributions on the mailing lists, and has helped expand Beam's reach by authoring a custom runner (and giving a talk about his experience at Beam Summit [1]). Considering his contributions to the project over this timeframe, the Beam PMC trusts Joey with the responsibilities of a Beam committer.
