Hey everyone,

Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2026 has officially begun, and The ASF is
planning to participate again! I'm sharing some communication below from
the mentor list. The ;tldr is that if you're a committer interested in
mentoring a project, please add your idea(s) in the next weekish by
following

.

On a personal note, I've mentored in GSOC for the last several years and
found it fun and rewarding. The mentees I've worked with have been
excellent, and it's been fun to help them get involved with Beam. I'd
recommend trying it if you have not done so before.

Here's the rest of the info:

GSoC is a global, online program focused on bringing new contributors into
open source software development. GSoC Contributors work with an open
source organization on a 12+ week programming project under the guidance of
mentors. Since 2005, The ASF has mentored (500+) passionate contributors
and delivered impactful projects together.

*How It Works*
