Hi Davor,

no problem ;)

We agree: a committer will get it assigned. If the contributor is not yet a committer, than his work has to be mentored/reviewed by a committer who assign the Jira to him.

JB

Absolutely -- a committer will get it assigned appropriately, and before
any work has commenced.

(Sorry JB for stepping over a bit.)

Thanks. Ideally it should be easy to assign a jira. Submitting a patch
and than getting assigned to a JIRA is in general not a good idea as it
can cause confusion among others to see who is working on particular bug
and end up having multiple people working on the same.
I am happy to add a comment to jira to get it assgined.

Thanks,
Harsha

I am interested in working on some of the jiras. Can I get assignee
privilege to add myself as assignee for JIRA.

Thanks,
Harsha
