Michael,

        Welcome,

Unfortunately, the current versions of OpenOffice there
is no separate code
area for the bibliographic functions. They are mixed in the writer code. So
doing development work on the current bibliographic system might not require
a complete rebuild you may have rebuild major portions of writer.

For developer information see the Bibliographic project's developer's page at
http://bibliographic.openoffice.org/developer.html . There is a section on
that page that contain pointers to "Definitions Of Some OpenOffice
Bibliographic API code functions."

If you do a search on the OpenOffice web site for bibliographic you will find
some other bibliographic components and related UI modules.

For more general developer information check, see the development Tab on the
OpenOffice web site.

We hope that in redevelopment of the bibliographic system will separate out
much of the code and will make it much easier for developers to work on. If
you find the existing code to difficult to work with maybe you could help us
with the redevelopment effort. We are in a design stage at the moment.

regards

David Wilson
