I wouldn't worry too much. The primary criteria you should look for is that it have good import/export support for a standard format like RIS, and that the app otherwise works for your needs. It depends what sort of material they'll be entering. If it's just journal articles, you could even have then use an online service like CiteUlike or Connotea.
