Konstantin Boudnik commented on BIGTOP-302:
-------------------------------------------
With BIGTOP-637 in place the VM creation and installation of the bit is likely
to be fully automated. So, I am not sure why is the wiki page? Enabling
hardware virtualization is something that you _have_ to do with or without
bigtop if you want to run a VM with any decent performance.
> 1. Start a separate Wiki page on Installing Bigtop in VMs (VirtualBox) (make
> sure to record the fact that one needs >> 2GB of RAM) 2. Record the
> experience with 32bit OSes

> I was able to successfully run a 64-bit guest OS (ubuntu) on a 32-bit host OS
> with a 64-bit processor using VirtualBox. This required changes to the BIOS
> settings to enable hardware based virtualization support. Where do we
> document this ? "How to install Hadoop distribution from Bigtop" wiki page
> might not be the right place.. Do we create another wiki page for
> virtualBox/VM installation instructions ?
