This is also related to the ongoing conversation about performance testing in
bigtop for clusters. Brought up breifly here

Probably some of the gmetric plugins would be useful once ganglia is in the
stack . Actually, it would be good if these could run in the smokes to analyze
and report i/o per node as part ofthe final product.
Maybe an ITest utility could be turned on/off as part of the smoke options, or
else, maybe another maven goal will be associated with performance testing.
