bq. JDK6 support 
As far as I understand, Java7 is backward compatible with Java6. The latter was 
EOLed by the maintainer. Hence, the criteria to drop it is seemingly there. 
However, everyone and his uncle is using it today. I'd say dropping it would be 
more a time-bound event. Say until the end of 2014?
