Sean Mackrory commented on BIGTOP-1159:
---------------------------------------
Sorry for not having thought to mention this on this JIRA earlier, but as an
improvement I'm wandering if this would be better as a symlink to a
subdirectory of /var/lib/bigtop? That directory is already created and intended
for plug-ins, although currently it's only use is for providing SQL connectors
for use in Sqoop, Hive, and Oozie. At the time Roman, suggested having
/var/lib/bigtop be a "global" repository for plugins, with component-specific
directories underneath. This might be a good next step in that direction...

> Apache Flume expects plugins to be dropped in /usr/lib/flume-ng/plugins.d/.
> But our package do not provide such directory since flume does not ship any
> plugin.
> Apache Flume package should create an empty directory
> /usr/lib/flume-ng/plugins.d/ and owned it.
> So plugins can be dropped automatically as packages into their own
> subdirectories.
