YoungWoo Kim commented on BIGTOP-1584:
--------------------------------------

[~jayunit100] I understand your concerns and I would like to explain further
about the background.

A company I'm working for, provides solutions and services on bigdata and
fastdata analytics. We've been using Bigtop since version 0.3 internally for
the products. At that time, Bigtop did not have a component for provisioning
and automation like Apache Ambari. I evaluated tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible
and etc for automation. from the work I learned. Generally, purpose of the
tools is same I think. but actual implementations and operations are very
different. so if users have choices for provisioning for Bigtop stack, it would
be very nice. We would like to do contributing back our internal works to
Bigtop community.

I believe there are users who want to use other provisioning tools out there.
so I don't think it's a 'duplicated feature' for Bigtop. because 'Ansible
roles' is reusable itself. It's not about VM or Bigtop's test infrastructure. A
vm in my patch is just a example. :-)

> Ansible is a well-known provisioning tool. http://www.ansible.com/
> It would be useful if Bigtop include the Ansible roles and playbooks for the
> Bigtop release.
