Apache HAWQ (incubating) is Hadoop native SQL and advanced MPP elastic query
engine that traces its lineage to PostgreSQL. It is now incubating with Apache
and is about to have its first official ASF release. Since HAWQ is implemented
mostly in C having binary convenience artifacts as part of the project release
is suboptimal. Besides, given that it is a native YARN application we need to
integrate it with the rest of the Bigtop stack.
This is an umbrella JIRA to track HAWQ inclusion in the next release of Bigtop.
Hopefully it'll be ready by 1.2 timeframe.
