Hi @afsanjar, thank you so much for working on this! I've also tried this issue, so let me share my findings in addition to the comments above. But I only made sure it worked with CentOS 7, so I'm going to try your PR with all distros instead) * In my environment, building the gRPC-Java compiler failed in the platform check.
