Hello,
forwarding Mr Dobbs' mail as expected.
David, at first glance, I think you should know that OOo doesn't come
with compatibility filters for Lotus formats. Jpegs and Bitmaps are easy
to use though. I don't know how well this answers your questions though.
Feel free to let us know more about your situation.
Best,
Charles-H. Schulz.

We have for years been using Lotus Smartsuite. Predominately Wordpro and
123.
We are now facing the inevitable. This product seems not to be supported
by IBM any more and we are under pressure from database software
providers (we use ACT but would consider a change) and our customers,
all who have adopted MS office products as their standard and we are
supposed to communicate using MS products (Word and Excel).
Okay, we can for new documents accommodate that using Open Office / Star
Office. The real big problem we have is converting our existing Lotus
documents to be compatible with the wretched MS products. typically
brochures produced which also have illustrations Bitmap / JPEG.
Otherwise it means spending heaps of time reproducing years of documents
generated using Lotus.
Any suggestions/hints pls.?
You guys are like a breath of fresh air!
Regards
David Dobbs
