Well you might want to be interested into my proposal for OOoCon as I offer to handle a special townhall meeting to talk about the future of BizDev. I think this will help us get a better structure and vision from each of us. I already have some ideas that I would like to offer to implement, of course, these ideas are only implementable if we do have resources (people) able to carry them on.
Also it will give a good chance for ISV, OEM etc, to speak out what they want to see from the bizdev and work better channels to interface with Marketing and the rest of the OOo community. As for this particular proposal I agree in some points, but there is a big "waiting" period specially regarding the website since OOo is planning to move to Kenai so any reorganization we have, will have to wait till then. We need some speciall channel to call out the NLC communities and bring them to the project. (i.e. ES has a partnership program). Governance per say, is not as relevant if we don't have the people to occupy the seats On Sun, Jun 6, 2010 at 8:44 PM, Peter Junge <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi everybody, > > I have been sending this message once before a couple of weeks ago, but > there was little response, likely because everyone was busy with QA etc. for > the OOo 3.2.1 release, so here are my ideas again for the first steps to to > push the BizDev project: > > Reorganizing Governance > ----------------------- > - Project leads > => Centrally steering the project > => Maintaining the website > => Selecting and maintaining tools > => Selecting and maintaining external presence > > - Regional Representatives (like MarCons) > => Working closely with local communities > => Being in touch with regional businesses > => Presence at events (OOo funding required) > > Verified and categorized OOo Business directory > ----------------------------------------------- > - Unknown entities have to show evidence of OOo related business > - Linking case studies with the business > > View on business directory: > - By business > + Individual Consultant/Freelancer > + SMB > + OEM > + ISV > + IHV > - By country > - By continent or by business region > + (North/South) America > + (East/Central/Western) Europe > + EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Asia) > + APAC (Asian-Pacific) > + Africa > + etc. > > Using the web for BizDev > ------------------------ > Creating groups on LinkedIn etc. for example: "OpenOffice.org Business > Crucible" with a mission statement like (briefly): "For OOo businesses > to search customers - For customers to search OOo businesses". > > Using Identi.ca, Twitter, etc. like: "OOo ecosystem gets extended with > solution XYZ now available [optional: in country]" > > > As we are not so many contributers yet, I wouldn't go for too much more at > the moment. > > Best regards, > Peter > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] > For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- > To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] > For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected] > > -- Alexandro Colorado OpenOffice.org EspaƱol http://es.openoffice.org
