Code looks good. In places where we have `symbName` and `version` as
separate fields we should use it.
Have not tried out the JS but if it works for you I'm happy with it; it's
an improvement on the current broken way.
BTW my comment about supporting `symbName:version` via the API is for
places where we get a `catalogItemId` e.g. on the summary page of an entity
which comes from a catalog item.
