hey! sorry to bring back this old thread, but thinking about it again: this
is not really about when to run validations or not. just when the bval
interceptor is enabled and other code in bval has to decide "should the
pre/postconditions be validated?"
IMO the spec right now does not really provide a way to weaken preconditions
(or: explicitly enforce them again) so maybe we should not try to be clever
here but make this explicitly possible in the next spec release?
