I'm considering upgrading Calcite's parent POM from apache-14 to apache-16. This will implicitly upgrade many of the dependencies, especially the maven plugins we use during the build process.
How likely is this to break Calcite's dependencies? I'm thinking particularly of Hive, Drill and Lingual, since they are part of the complex Hadoop ecosystem. Comments on this list or against https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-561 Julian
