sebbASF commented on CAMEL-3165:
--------------------------------
Camel used to be part of ActiveMQ, so much older releases are here:
http://archive.apache.org/dist/activemq/apache-camel/
Could add this link alongside
http://archive.apache.org/dist/camel/apache-camel/
on the download page.
> The download archive pages for archived releases must point to
> archive.apache.org

> Project: Apache Camel
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: website

>
> http://camel.apache.org/download-archives.html has a list of previous (and
> current) releases, which point to the release notes for each release, for
> example:
> This is very useful.
> However, the download links in the release-specific pages all point to the
> mirror system.
> This is not ideal, as superseded releases should removed from the mirroring
> system, thus breaking the links.
> Most other projects I know include the link to archive.apache.org in the main
> download page, and don't include it in the release notes.
> That makes it easier to maintain the website without making it harder to find
> the archives.
> In summary what I'm suggesting as a fix is:
> - Change the "Getting past releases" section in the main download page to
> point to archive.apache.org.
> - remove the Binary Distributions and Source Distributions sections from the
> Getting the Distributions section of the all release notes, both existing and
> future
