It does not work with this version of java:
java version "1.5.0_19"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_19-b02-304)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_19-137, mixed mode, sharing)
I upgraded to
java version "1.5.0_24"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build
1.5.0_24-b02-357-10M3065)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_24-149, mixed mode, sharing)

and I can confirm that it works. I will release note this and close this issue
