Thanks Willem, that's just awesome! To reflect your fix I enabled the 'apt' profile by our POMs *per default* and also activated the corresponding tests on Java 6 as well.
The commit has been also backported to the 2.12.x branch. Looking forward for the upcomming 2.12.3 release!
