Yeah it should be the last 2.x release. Maybe do it January 2020. One thing we can debate is whether Camel 2.25 should be upgraded to Spring Boot 2.2. It takes some effort and maybe some existing 2.x users would like to do soft upgrade to 2.25 and SB 2.2. If that is the case then it would take some effort to migrate the work as its not a simple version change in the pom.xml.
