Hi Ahmed,

Dimensions are usually the fields that cannot be aggregated and the fields
you want to track like Country, Product etc. Where as measures, as its name
suggests, are those fields that can be measured, aggregated, or used for
mathematical operations like Quantity, Price etc.
By default all columns having Numeric datatype like Integer,Double, Long
etc are treated as measures and remaining columns are treated as
dimensions. But this behavior can be overridden by using TBLPROPERTIES while
creating the table. So when it comes to MDK(Multi dimensional key) concept
of Carbon , only dimensions are part of it.

other database.
