Float datatype is not working as you have mentioned it in the Carbon data types
in the below link:

e.g:
Query: create table employee(id Int,name String,sal Float)stored by
'carbondata';
Error:org.apache.carbondata.spark.exception.MalformedCarbonCommandException:
Unsupported data type : FieldSchema(name:sal, type:float, comment:null).getType
