Hi All - I wanted to let the community know that the server-side implementation corresponding to CEP-50 (authentication negotiation) is available for review: https://github.com/apache/cassandra/pull/4773
Unfortunately, due to changes in my organization's priorities and distractions due to some personal matters, I won't be able to continue driving this proposal or implementation toward completion. I think handing it off now, before it is fully integrated, gives it a better chance of enjoying long-term ownership. I don't want the work to disappear quietly, so I'm posting here in hopes that someone is interested in carrying it forward. I'd be happy to answer questions about the design or implementation if that would be helpful and can provide an outline of the client-side changes involved as well. Thanks -- Joel.
