Just thinking about this for a moment....

Shouldn't the mapping loaders recognize their own URLs and pull those mappings from the JAR for validation? Is this purely an issue of ensuring that our own resolver, when it recognizes a Castor URL, provides the resulting stream from a file in the jar?

While that would mean we had to ship our DTDs and XSDs in the jars, it would also mean that someone's DTD/XSD would always be valid to the code to which that dtd/xsd was dependent, and would encapsulate the issue nicely.

You'll also want to check this for .xsd files, which will likely have the same problem.

Castor website is burning a lot of traffic for handful of hosts

     Project: castor
        Type: Task
  Components: website

    Priority: Minor

I've just gone through the traffic logs for castor for May (1st-23rd) and you've been getting a LOT of requests for your DTD from a handful of hosts:
217.204.10.70 124131 1.05 GB 23 May 2005 - 09:03
217.204.10.71 71048 616.38 MB
193.246.191.129 43369 376.56 MB
65.222.219.2 12885 310.40 MB
At the moment, this is just an FYI.
If you want to do something about it (eg. block/redirect thoses hosts), we can arrange that.
