Hello Werner, I have created a JIRA isue: Tomcat castor and Ehcache distributed environment.
Sorry I can't create a standar testcase but I was not able to reproduce the problem in other envirionments... I have created a full application with instructions on it. Please tell me if you are able to reproduce the system.
