Hello,
for those interested on keeping in touch with the current development
activities, I'd like to invite all of you to potentially join us on the
development mailing list as well.
There's a few tracks going on in parallel, and the earlier we can get
feedback from the community, the better we can shape our new additions
after your needs.
I'll be introducing the individual activities (and the folks behind
those) one by one in the next few days, but let me quickly summarize the
main tracks I will be mentoring:
a) I am mentoring a Goggle summer of code student that will join Jaochim
and myself on adding an XML schema generator to Castor, i.e. assist us
to meet one of the required components if the JAXB specification.
b) I am mentoring a group of students here in Vienna that have joined me
(as part of a group effort) to extend the XML source generator in such a
way that - in addition to XML descriptors - JDO specific descriptors
will be generated as well, given an annotated XML schema. This will
allow seamless data binding for both XML and JDO, based upon one contract.
I hope to see many of you on the development list, and I am looking
forward to make new functionality available as part of this project
within a few months.
