Dear users,
as some of you might know, a group of students from the Technical
University of Vienna, Austria and I have been working for some months
now to add a new feature to the Castor XML code generator.
This feature will allow you to generate JDO descriptor classes from an
annotated XML schema to allow seamless persistence of generated domain
classes using Castor JDO. As such, you won't have to write a separate
Castor JDO mapping file for the classes generated from your XML
schema(s) any more. We believe that this will greatly simplify your
experience and finally bring together the key strengths of Castor, i.e.
seamless data binding to both XML and databases.
As we are about to reach feature completeness in a few days, we are
looking forward to making this new extension available to a closed
amount of users first to provide us with early feedback. Anybody willing
to assist us with task, please make yourself heard on these mailing lists.
I will follow up with a short email introducing this extension to the
code generator in a few days.
