Actually, just to let everybody know that this issue has been resolved. A new patch will be added to
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/CASTOR-2475 in a few minutes, and - if there's no objections - I'd like to go ahead and commit this patch as is, deleting the old (generated) mapping file classes from the SVN repository.
