Spring Boot 4 release is scheduled for Nov '25. Snapshot builds are already
available, milestone builds not yet. (as of May '25)
With this v4 we might want to
* stay at Java *17* baseline (as _Spring_ does)
* remove *JDO* support
* use *slf4j* instead of log4j
I propose we do this in a new branch `v4` until its ready for release. Snapshot
builds can be made available for preview via our {_}nightly repo{_}.
