I admit that I am using a Pro subscription for Anthropic Claude for my
professional work, and I find it to be a massive help.
From debugging and diagnosing Linux system issues to writing and
improving code, it's like having a small team of keen-but-must-be-
monitored devs at hand. I find it mind-blowing watching Claude
fetch a crash dump, decompile the binary and then say "that caller
over there is passing this parameter, which causes the issue" or
"this thread is doing a busy wait in that function and it's locking
that CPU, preventing this other driver from writing to disk".
My only "complaint" is that I am struggling, mentally, to keep up
with the progress and changes.
For senior devs looking for a boost, I give it two thumbs up.
Caveat: I do not enjoy the deep-dive, figuring out which line
of code is best. I enjoy solving the problem and am happy to
delegate.
