The Getting Started tutorial is very good and effective for newbies.
(at least this is what I observed with several users).
IMHO there are a few small things that could make it more accessible:
- numbering the steps.
- a PDF for print version (might be published on InfoQ as a mini-book too :) ).
- syntax highlight for all code snippets(java, jsp and html too) for better
reading.
- announce it on TheServerside too. Developers hear too seldom about Cayenne.
E.g. about
Hibernate there's every week some tips, articles or just "pseudo-news" so that it's "not forgotten"

P.S. Also a few screenshots of CM and DVModeler with a direct link from the Main menu' wouldn't be
bad idea IMHO (you could check the stats - new users always look at the screenshots first :) ).
